Six months have already passed so here is an A-List of albums that have been released in the first half of 2019 - featuring a Spotify playlist.

January 18 saw the release of James Blake's fourth studio album Assume Form. A week later, the Backstreet Boys released their tenth album DNA alonside Weezer's Teal Album.

February featured the release of British post-punk band White Lies's fifth album FIVE as well as American singer Chaka Khan's twelfth album Hello Happiness.

I would like to add that Australian electronic music duo Empire Of The Sun released a 10th anniversary limited edition orange vinyl of their debut album Walking On A Dream on 1 February - including the previously unreleased track Chrysalis to download.

March has been a very popular month in terms of new releases. It included albums by Bryan Adams (Shine A Light), Irish singer-songwriter Hoozier (Wasteland, Baby!), Dido (Still On My Mind), English singer-songwriter Jack Savoretti (Singing To Strangers), British rock band Foals (Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost - 1) and by French DJ-producer Gesaffelstein (Hyperion).

Also, there were debut albums by English indie-pop singer The Japanese House (Good At Falling) and American singer-songwriter Billie Eilish (When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?) as well as an orchestral greatest-hits compilation by Sophie Ellis-Bextor (The Song Diaries).

Furthermore, German electronica artist Schiller released his tenth album Morgenstund on 22 March.

On 12 April The Chemical Brothers released their ninth studio album No Geography, Norah Jones released her seventh album Begin Again, which is more like a singles collection, however, LSD (stands for singers Labrinth and Sia plus producer Diplo) released their debut album and former Spice Girls singer Emma Bunton released her fourth album My Happy Place.

American rapper and singer Lizzo's third album Cuz I Love You was released on 19 April alongside Bananarama's eleventh studio album In Stereo.

On 26 April 26 Pink released her US and UK #1 eighth studio album Hurts 2B Human. On the same day, Rob Thomas released his fourth Chip Tooth Smile, Marina (formerly known as Marina and the Diamonds) released Love + Fear and Irish rock band The Cranberries released their final album In The End - one year and three months after the death of singer Dolores O'Riordan.

May 2019 saw new releases by Biffy Clyro (Balance, Not Symmetry O.S.T.), The National (I Am Aasy to Find) as well as by Rammstein (Untitled / Rammstein). On the mainstream side, Lewis Capaldi released his UK #1 debut album Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent.

Finally June had new albums coming by the likes of British singer Will Young (Lexicon), American rock band X-Ambassadors (Orion), Australian producer Hayden James (Between Us), English synth-pop group Hot Chip (A Bath Full of Ecstasy), Northern Irish indie-rock band Two Door Cinema Club (False Alarm), Santana (Africa Speaks), Bastille (Doom Days) and by German producer Alle Farben (Sticker on My Suitcase)

Nevertheless, maybe the biggest new releases of June have been Madame X by Madonna, Late Night Feelings by Mark Ronson, Avicii's posthumous album TIM as well as Kylie Minogue's greatest hits album Step Back in Time: The Definitive Collection.

In addition, - as a current misfortune - Philippe Zdar, one part of French dance/electronica duo Cassius died two days before releasing Dreems on 21 June.
