Gábor is listening to... 2019/21
Congrats to The Netherlands, who won this year's Eurovision Song Contest with Duncan Laurence's Arcade - but what else is new?
While the Dutch scored their fifth Eurovision number one (last time in 1975), Madonna was performing her brand new Thievery-Corporation-Becomes-Her-sort-of masterpiece entitled Future, taken from her forthcoming album Madame X.
On the other hand, Dido is back with a trippy track produced by her brother Rollo (AKA the man behind Faithless) entitled Take You Home from her latest album Still On My Mind.
Paralell to Dido's album release back in March 2019, Foals also had a new record out entitled Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost Part I featuring the first two singles Exits and In Degrees.
Also, even though OneRepublic has been responsible for two major hits in the last 12 years (Apologize and Counting Stars) and Ryan Tedder has probably written dozens of songs for other artitst, they have not had commercial succes lately. As a result, their brand new one, Rescue Me can be interpreted as a cry for - you know - financial aid.
Artists I don't quite know much about are Emotional Oranges, who sound like an R'n'B male-female duo with their appetizing debut album The Juice: Vol. 1 - released on 10 May 2019
However, artists I know quite much about are for example American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert, who turned overnight into the singer of a band called Queen. Adam's fourth studio album Velvet is on its way featuring the soft rock oriented song New Eyes.
Finally, Biffy Clyro are back with the title track to the movie Balance Not Symmetry, as well as there is a fan-tas-tic song by Disciples on the way entitled No Ties, which has a touch of Jamiroquai-meets-house-music-meets-Bootsy-Collins.
In addition, British producer KDA has reinspired an aged Angie Stone song, mixed it with a Human League sample and created a signature house track.
