Records of the Year so far - Part II
FYI, we are still in 2017. :)
Truth to be told, the most fundamental albums of 2017 have already been released in the first six months - on which you might read here - however, some big records were on their way in the second half of the year, as well.
Since the list of all releases would be long, I highlighted those that received a huge thumbs up from me furthermore they were either critically acclaimed or commercially successful.
HAIM
7th July 2017 saw the comeback of American siblings Haim with their second album Something To Tell You, reaching number 2 in the UK, number 4 in Australia and number 7 in the USA.
Coldplay

Shania Twain

Liam Versus Noel Gallagher
The two fronting brothers of legendary British band Oasis both released albums in 2017 - one bigger than the other. Liam released his first solo album As You Were on 6th October 2017, which sold over 100000 units in its first week, overselling the complete Top Ten and was immediately certified Gold. Noel released his third album Who Built The Moon? with his band the High Flying Birds on 24th November 2017, which sold 78000 units on its first week but eventually reached the Gold mark later that year. As a result, Liam's album became the UK's 9th best selling album of 2017 whereas Noel's became 19th - with seven weeks difference between the releases this is pretty even and amazing.
Stereophonics
The Welsh rock band released their tenth studio album Scream Above The Sounds on 27th October 2017. It reached number two in the UK, being the 62nd best selling album of 2017. It was also certified Gold.

Björk
The Icelandic singer's ninth album is entitled Utopia and was released on 24th November 2017. While the album has been critically acclaimed - for example various music magazines (Pitchfork, Rough Trade, Mixmag, Dazed, etc.) rank it among the ten or twenty best albums of 2017 - it became one of Björk's lowest charting records reaching number 25 in the UK and number 75 in the USA.
U2
Intended to be a companion piece to Songs of Innocence (2014), the Irish band released Songs of Experience on 1st December 2017. Even though the record only reached number 5 in the UK and was sold for 30 days, it became the 82nd best selling album of 2017 in the UK.
Other remarkable album releases include Sam Smith, Paloma Faith, Foo Fighters, Beck, Pink, The Corrs, Tears For Fears, Bryan Adams, The National, Tori Amos, Eminem, etc. - for the complete list go to Wikipedia.
