Accidents can happen and one person who knows this just too well is the world-famous Dutch trance dj and producer Paul Van Dyk. During one of his live sets in 2016 the Grammy Award winner musician fell off the stage in a weird way - once he was seen climbing up the turntables and a sec later he disappeard - getting seriously injured.
Being the world's best dj in 2005 and 2006 according to DJ Magazine Top 100 DJs, Paul Van Dyk has been well known for trance anthems like For An Angel, We Are Alive or Nothing But You. His eighth studio album From Then On was released on 20th October 2017, with which he looks back at his nearly fatal accident and gives a clear statement of being thankful for being alive.
According to Van Dyk the record is a "celebration of trance, life and unity."
While the popularity and mainstream level of trance as a genre has been continuously ceasing, 2017 saw the comeback of quite a few huge names: besides Paul Van Dyk both ATB and Ferry Corsten released studio albums furthermore Armin Van Buuren presented a best of compilation.
