Gábor is listening to... 2017/31
Even though the summer of 2017 is still going on, some artists/bands are already looking forward to the autumn period with new releases. As a result I compiled a Top 10 of fresh, prospective or recently announced music.
1. Too Much is the third single taken form Blondie's eleventh studio album, Pollinator. It was released on 13th June and even though it has not received a music video yet, the song became quite a radio favourite as it has been Bubbling Under the Euro200 radio airplay chart.
2. Midnight is the third single taken from Jump On Board, which is the ninth studio album of Scottish alternative rock band Texas.
3. No Horses is a charity single by Garbage with all proceeds donated to the International Committee of Red Cross. It was released on 14th July.
4. Welsh rock band Stereophonics will introduce their tenth studio album Scream Above The Sounds on 27th October 2017. The lead single is entitled All In One Night.
5. Australian singer-songwriter Vance Joy is back with yet another catchy tune entitled Lay It On Me.
6. Even though The Script's upcoming fifth studio album Freedom Child is said to be influenced by politics, the first single Rain does not quite sound like it. The Irish rock band is also trying to reflect on contemporary pop music so the new record may be quite an interesting mix. Freedom Child will be out on 1st September.
7. Irish alternative rock band Kodaline are close to release their third, yet unknown and untitled album - based on the fact that they have recently released a new song called Brother.
8. While it is not easy for American singer Anastacia to cope with her former success, she is not that kind (of girl) to give up so her seventh studio album Evolution is on its way, being released on 15th September, 2017.
9. Clean Bandit's latest single has been a digital release only and with a lack of a music video the song has not had a big impact on official charts, however Disconnect features the impressive voice of Marina & The Diamonds resulting in a "gloomy, disco-tinged anthem about the loneliness of modern life" (according to wikipedia).
10. While my generation remembers the latino-wave of Bailando's and Bamboleo's from the late 1990s, the generation of today does not - therefore a song like Despacito could not just create an eargasm on its own but at the same time made other artists to produce tons of Spanish language oriented tracks. One title, which supposedly has been created before but is currently gaining attention, is a Spanish electro-pop anthem by French electronic music artist Vitalic entitled Tu Conmigo.
