Gábor is listening to... 2017/13
It's not just the weather that officially turned into spring but the music industry is blooming as well. Even though Ed Sheeran is still beating everyone else, here is what other stuff you can listen to:
1.-2. Sophie Ellis-Bextor's latest album Familia offers not one but two recent singles.
3. Kasabian's sixth album For Crying Out Loud will be released on 28th April 2017 and if you are lucky, you might see them touring around your neighborhood in the summer.
4. If you are interested to hear something really fresh and quite new then consider checking out American songwriting duo Marian Hill and their surprisingly seductive mix of R'n'B, electronic music and synthpop.
5. As Clean Bandit became a trio, they seem to be trying to make up the loss of Neil Amin-Smith with bigger and bigger names. Last time it was Sean Paul and now it's Zara Larsson. A new album, however, is not yet in sight but it might come just as surprising as the new single Symphony.
6. On one hand Coldplay has already teamed up with The Chainsmokers for an almost-Ed-Sheeran-beating hit, on the other hand they will release a new EP in June as well, entitled Kaleidoscope.
7. American rock band X-Ambassadors have just uploaded a brand new lyric video to YouTube called Hoping.
8. French electronica artist Vitalic released his fourth album Voyager on 20th January 2017.
9. Even though I am not a British person, I still consider the Steps as one of my remarkable teenage memories. It's not really because they were so amazing but rather the fact that the 90s were quite popular for artificially formed pop groups and the Steps were probably the biggest kitsch of their age with their over-choreographed videos and ABBA-like dancepop sound.
Kitsch, however, can be worth gold in case it suddenly disappears and you want it back. So, as the Steps are making a reunion in 2017 with new album Tears on the Dancefloor (available on 21st April 2017) I kind of begin to feel proud of becoming a fan.
10. The man who literally invented disco, Giorgio Moroder, is once again back with new material - this time featuring British singer Karen Harding.
