Four years after his death, to honour his lifetime achievement, The Ivor Novello Awards for songwriting and composing were established. Award categories span from Best Contemporary Song to Outstanding Contribution to British Music, however, the most important should be Songwriter of the Year, the winners of which include Richard Ashcroft, Gary Barlow, Adele, Phil Collins, George Michael or Ed Sheeran.

Thomas Oliver Chaplin AKA Tom Chaplin is an English singer/songwriter as well as the singer of British band Keane. They have had four albums and one EP before Tom Chaplin started his solo career. His debut album The Wave was released on 14th October 2016 and reached number 3 in the UK.

Tom Chaplin won an Ivor Novello Award for Songwriter of the Year in 2005. Keane is currently on hiatus, however an exclusive song for the film A Monster Calls appeared in September 2016.
