Twenty Years of Summer (1996-2016)

2011

From Alexandra Stan's Mr. Saxobeat to LMFAO's Party Rock Anthem- this summer had them all, including two Pitbull songs as a cherry on top - one featuring Jennifer Lopez (On The Floor) and the other with Neyo and Afrojack (Give Me Everything).

On one hand the more serious side of the summer was represented by Aloe Blacc (I Need A Dollar), Christina Perry (Jar of Hearts) and Marlon Roudette (New Age).

On the other hand club tunes included Hot Right Now by DJ Fresh, Koko by Sander Van Doorn, Feels So Good by Armin Van Buuren, Way Back Home by Bag Raiders, Save the World by Swedish House Mafia and Illmerica by Wolfgang Gartner.

Finally Robyn and The Naked & Famous were there, as well with songs like Call Your Girlfriend and Punching in a Dream, however, Lucenzo and Don Omar's Danza Kuduro has definitely stolen the show.

Having said that, I propose the following 10 songs as the most remarkable tunes of the summer 2011:

Maroon 5 & Christina Augilera: Moves Like Jagger

Foster The People: Pumped Up Kicks

Coldplay: Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall

Red Hot Chili Peppers: The Adventures of Raindance Maggie

Calvin Harris & Kelis: Bounce

Example : Changed The Way You Kiss Me

Benny Benassi & Gary Go: Cinema

Blank & Jones: Pura Vida

Kings Of León: Back Down South

Ed Sheeran: A-Team
