After having spent five months on a cruiseship, I came back home and graduated as a teacher of English. In that summer Rihanna, Katy Perry, Gabriella Cilmi, Sara Bareilles, Kid Rock, The Ting Tings, Amy McDonald and Ne-Yo had huge pop hits.

Also New Kids On The Block celebrated a comeback with Summertime, Kylie Minogue had a UK Top 40 hit with The One, The Script gained fame with The Man Who Can't Be Moved, Alphabeat brought back disco with Boyfriend, Linkin Park teamed up with Busta Rhymes, Keane were Spiralling and Texas frontwoman Sharleen Spiteri had her first solo success with All The Times I Cried.

Clubs were playing Wearing My Rolex by Wiley, Cry For You by September, Speed Up by Funkerman, Singing In The Rain by Mint Royale, Bruised Water by Chicane Vs. Natasha Bedingfield and Miracle Cure by Blank & Jones featuring Bernard Sumner.

In addition The Verve managed a brief comeback with Love Is Noise.
